Hey i have this friend that installs kitchen selves counter tops and stuff and he once told me that of all the materials he is using this is the most radioactive. If its too late to change you better air your kitchen a lot. it helps |

I believe in the home doityourselfer as much as the next guy or gal but when it comes to granite countertops I would have to say that if you have to ask your probobly better off getting bids from local granite companys to complete the installation. If you purchase a slab of granite and drop it on the way in the kitchen the best case senerio is that it will crack in a couple pieces. Worst case senerio is that someone could get hurt. I recommend that you pay for the installation and try to save expenses by tearing out your old countertop yourself and disconnecting your sink and reinstalling the sink after installation of the new granite. Doing these things will save you about 1000.00. And could quite possibly save your back as well. Save your creativity for your backsplash. You can get some how to books at your local home improvement store or attend some workshops that some of them offer as well. Im not trying to discourage you from attempting this project Its just that it could end up costing you more in the long run.
Good Luck |
